Cross-media Artist and Critical Designer

As a cross-media artist, I create work that explores the entanglement of technology and the human experience. My practice investigates themes such as digital surveillance, neoliberal labor, and the social impact of new media.

Surveillance

My research is particularly concerned with the mechanisms through which visibility acquires a coercive function within digital panoptic regimes.

I actively engage in the rejection of the ideological notion of “good” action within our culture, that is, of “work,” to inspire the formation of an alternative life no longer dominated by the ideological notions of individual freedom and the entrepreneurial subject, and ultimately exploring the possibility for those who do not wish to suffer within the neoliberal economy.

Digital society commodifies humans as data, erases individuality, and enforces coercive visibility through technocratic transparency and economic surveillance.

Do you wake up at 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom and check Facebook?

Do you feel your phone vibrating with a notification even though it's on the other side of the room?

Do you feel insecure about anything you say without first googling it?

Do you get an awful, empty feeling when you turn off or forget your phone?

Have you spent half of the train trip with your phone in your hand and your child in the overhead compartment?
